• File Types - When Strict File Adding is on, GrayAMP will only add files that it is sure are MP3s. There are 7 type codes, and you can look in the BNDL with ResEdit if you want to see them all. However, GrayAMP prefers files to have the 'PLAY' type. GrayAMP's creator type is 'GAMP'. So if your going to convert all your MP3s to open with GrayAMP, set their creator to 'GAMP', and their type to 'PLAY'.

• Language Translations - Although no small task, one could translate all of GrayAMP into another language with just a copy of ResEdit/Resorcerer. If you do attempt this, send any questions and/or the final version to the email addresses provided. This would be greatly appreciated, and you get to add your name to the credits.


Hidden Features

• Option-Dragging a song onto the playlist will play it immediately.

• GrayAMP will look in its folder for a prefs file (Named "GrayAMP Preferences"). If its not there, it then goes to the Preferences folder. This may be of use to somebody.

• When using QuickTime 4 as the engine, any file QuickTime will play, can be added to the Playlist. Naturally, it only plays the audio and music tracks.

• When the Time text is enabled (that is, your using QT4 as the player), clicking the text will have it switch between Time Remaining/Time Elapsed/Time Total values.

• Contextual Menus, they are there, use them. They even work when you don't have Contextual Menus installed (like in System 7.5).

• The buttons on top of the Playlist actually sort the Playlist when clicked.

• The links in the Contact window work. Just because the cursor doesn't change to a nice pointy hand doesn't mean they are not real links.

• This is not really a feature, but...When GrayAMP plays a file, it will Lock it in the Finder. So you may see the locked icon on the file in the Finder. This is to make sure nothing happens to it while playing.

• Other than that, there are no secrets. Except for...oh, never mind.
